DIANA: UNHEARD

DIANA: UNHEARD

Coming Soon

Using hours of never before heard archival audio recordings of Diana, Princess of Wales, this series will reframe one of the most enduring public narratives of our time. In DIANA: UNHEARD, the Diana we never knew speaks – and it changes everything.

To mark the 30th anniversary of her death, this landmark feature documentary series uses the previously unheard audio material to offer the world a portrait of Diana beyond the crown and beyond the headlines. Four hours of unbelievable testimony audio of the Princess in her own words reveal a woman at a crossroads; back from the brink, and ready to reclaim her agency. Unheard, unfiltered and unguarded, this is the real Princess. Through these precious re-surfaced recordings, we learn how Diana stepped out of history’s shadow and into her own light and in doing so, changed the face of the British monarchy, forever.

The unheard material depicts a woman who had been ambitious for a life at the top of British society from a very young age and who was, by the early nineties, at the top of her professional game; a woman who showed extraordinary strength and self-reliance, even as scandal and emotional trauma befell first her parents and then her own marriage; a woman who is not just empathetic but so extraordinarily emotionally intelligent, it is almost a superpower; a woman who, when she realised her marriage had become no more than a facade, finely tuned a multi-stage strategy to leave her gilded cage, winning her own freedom and custody of her children in the process.

Backed up by in person interviews with people who knew the real Diana, this is the woman, that they remember. She threw the dice without knowing if it would land on a six or a one. Daring or preposterous, this series allows the viewer to decide.
